They were going to go out to those cities and try to form partnerships with the cities, to get the Mayors or the council members of those cities, at a policy level, to endorse the Plug-In Partner campaign, and then subsequently to get them to place a soft fleet order. They recognize that green is very vogue right now.

The other thing that I think is happening globally is that there’s greater economic inequality. Jimmie Alford, one of the great fundraisers in America, told me a story a few years ago, which was about this volunteer who had to raise money for mental health in a community. You need to have a gift acceptance policy.

Frida, I think, a lot of her work, even though people constantly try to de-politicize it, a lot of it deals with this Mexican identity, it deals with globalization and so, of course, she was one of my inspirations. Even stuff around "green." We can no longer be America-centric. I think that is really important. So, we did.
