As I spent the Thanksgiving weekend pondering gratitude, MySpace made the top of my list of things to be grateful for. If it were not for MySpace, my professional life no doubt would be much less fulfilling. And for that, I will be eternally grateful to MySpace and the “Nonprofit Organizations&# MySpace community.

MySpace allowed personal profiles to be converted into brand profiles which strongly appealed to the spammers and aggressive business marketers – and I believe that decision inevitably lead to its downfall (being sold to Rupert Murdoch didn’t help either). 2) Google is currently requesting early adopters for Google+ Entity Profiles.

Mohammed Diop, of Mali , presumably one of the very people OLPC wants to convince: "It is a very clever marketing tool. And who needs libraries when we have Wikipedia and Kindles? " Whites were more likely to leave or choose Facebook. The educated were more likely to leave or choose Facebook.

So, thought I'd take an opportunity to query my network via Twitter and Facebook and see what's new. Finally the Library of Congress community tagging pilot project on flickr.

Facebook and MySpace are of course the biggies, but you might want to consider creating a presence on a do-good social network like Change.org , Care2 , Just Cause , Razoo , WiserEarth or World of Good too. Twitter is a social networking and microblogging tool where news travels fast. You may also want to start Twittering.

I really like the idea of using online organizing tools to bridge the gap that many in politics and media tell us are unable to be bridged, and to provide a way for folks to "meet" one another virtually in a way that reduces anxiety and amplifies commonality. At its most basic, PledgeBank is a positive peer pressure tool.
