Our staff is very small and efficient so our budget isn’t huge, but raising the money is constantly on my mind and my to do list. Although I knew adults would be involved, I wanted New Moon to express girls’ voices and dreams and ambitions, rather than adult goals for them. Raising the funds to reach as many people as possible.

Off the Mat, Into the World is an educational, experiential and motivational process for people interested in conscious activism and service. It got the seeds planted in my head that this is an altruistic community, it's an educated community. It's really an educational facility, but they're never again allowed to work.

I got involved in some of the anti-globalization work at that time and my group, Art and Revolution, was doing a lot of education and outreach through dance and giant puppets and theater and doing a lot of tours to mobilize people to come to Seattle. So we're bringing a lot of elements together, the innerpersonal the activist.
