Since the first NetSquared challenge in 2006, TechSoup has continued to offer people and organizations opportunities to connect, share ideas, and collaborate; they work on solutions online and offline through events, meetups, and hackathons. He said that roughly half of the people who participate in these challenges are programmers.

How It All Began: Helping Poor Kids Attend School. OvidiuRo's story began in 2001, when Maria Gheorghiu and Leslie Hawke were helping poor women from the ghettos of Bacau, a small city in Romania. As a result, OvidiuRo decided to focus on helping preschool children through early education.
