Animoto is a service that allows you to create videos about your nonprofit using a selection of your organization’s best photos. Then click “Create Video&# and upload 15 photos for a 30-second video. Then choose a song from Animoto’s music gallery and finally click “Create Video&#. That’s it!

So far I’ve experienced iPad-only #fail on: Managing photos. When you connect an iOS device to a PC photo library, you are given the option to delete photos from camera roll after the photos have been transferred. Organizing the camera roll without a computer is a mess. Why does this matter so much?

Ask any mobile expert and they'll tell you that camera apps are blazing hot right now. Vine has arrived on Windows Phone , which is excellent news as many of the Nokia Windows Phones are equipped with high-end cameras. The other big news in digital storytelling apps is that Instagram now supports videos in addition to photos.

Choose the Right Camera for Your Needs. There are so many great cameras on the market today, but they’re not all going to be right for your organization. If you’re just shooting for the web, we recommend the Flip video camera. Of course, making a video doesn’t end with the camera. For inexpensive music, try Music Bakery.

An effective nonprofit video can be as simple as a Flickr photo stream set to an audio track or a really great interview. Videos should be clear to understand if employing dialogue or music. Today's smartphones have fairly sophisticated built-in video cameras and editing tools that, if used wisely, can create great movies.

Added a narration/ over the beginning ten seconds "Last June a snapping turtle visited our backyard" or some music. " I also add in the conference technorati tag at the bottem as well as any trackback urls. I learned how to type while I was in music school so I could temp to make some extra money. I also try to get several photos that capture the essence of what it was like to be in the room. I usually do this after each speaker.
