I have many examples from my own children and those of Sharing Foundation stakeholders - many who are adoptive parents and have encouraged their children to give back to Cambodia. Take for example the lemon stand fundraiser. One of their donors was a class of kindergarteners!

In Roteang Village, where the Sharing Foundation has programs that help over 1,500 children each and every day, there was a birthday bash at the orphanage for the 70 plus children. Many children in Cambodia do not go to school because their families lack the $10 for a uniform, required for school attendance.

In less than 24 hours, I've raised $806 to help children in Cambodia using a new feature in Facebook Causes. Every year I do a fundraising campaign using social media. The set up page was easy to set up, but you are only given a limited number of options for the fundraising pitch. It facilitates free agent fundraising.

One lesson is that if your fundraising platform doesn't allow this flexibility, don't use it. Or maybe Causes will improve the goal setting feature. .
