Not only does Indiegogo offer discounts on fees, you can also get a badge on your campaign that says you're a verified 503(c) nonprofit (which, according to the Indiegogo rep I spoke with, helps with garnering donations). Bottom line: I love Indiegogo's nonprofit perks, especially the verified nonprofit badge you can put on your page.

There are other projects underway to solve it, including the MedBiquitous Activity Report standard and (in a sense) the Mozilla Open Badges project. As Mark Iafrate of Accredible , an evangelist for badges, has suggested, these standards could continue to exist in a layered system that rests atop distributed ledgers.

Dank Apps (creators of the popular Lotto app ) has launched a new series of Social Change applications that allow Facebook users to raise money for a cause through advertising revenue. This means users do not have to donate, but just need to install the application, recruit their friends, or play the games. and puts it on steroids.

As applications come in, the VC helps to narrow the pool, coordinate interviews, and run background checks. VCs could help volunteers share milestones and accomplishments with badges, banners, or widgets that can be shared with the volunteer’s personal network. Filtering candidates to assess fit is a crucial step.
