Read Darfur Diaries by Aisha Bain, Jen Marlowe and Adam Shapiro. Watched Darfur Now. Made some changes in my work life to give me more space for creative projects and down time. Continue reading and learning about why genocide happens, and what I can do to encourage the United States to be a part of the solution.

I signed up for the Challenge today and decided to celebrate Day 1 by donating to the BlogHers Act' "Donate Now to Save Women's Lives" campaign on Global Giving. I donated to a Relief International health clinic in the Zam Zam refugee camp in Darfur that trains indigenous doctors, midwives, and community health workers.

In-world speakers from nonprofits who spoke about their work included Evonne Heyning from Camp Darfur, Barry Joseph from Global Kids , Lori Bell from the Library Alliance , and Marc Sirkin from LLS. The next event I attended was a poster session at the New Media Consortium where you view project posters in the virtual world.

We are poised to grow not only Bookshare.org, but all of our projects. The project has been so successful at raising student reading skills that they hope to provide similar services to their non-disabled students as well. Miradi Bookshare.org isn't our only project undergoing significant growth. We've just launched Miradi.
