Nothing is more impactful than a well-done video with the right music in the background. When you send several emails out in a short period of time, you may lose subscribers or even get tagged as a spammer. If you can get a local radio station on board to broadcast live from your event, that will help boost awareness.

Just yesterday I read a tweet that called the #nonprofit twitter tag a “cavernous echo chamber.” WEINGARTEN | Rolling Stone Music Critic| @1000TimesYes. People have awful taste…it’s all this music that rises to the middle, this boring, bland, white-people guitar music. It’s the music that the most people can listen to.

The Experience Music Project in Seattle is a great model for skillful use of both audience-centric and private visitor experiences. Creating music can be both a private and public experience, and they address both. Had I been recorded and broadcast, I would have put the drumsticks down. Sometimes you want to be famous.

They have a MySpace page , complete with music from the Talking Heads, and a blog (though it's not RSS-friendly). I was waiting for this week to write about it, as they had broadcast that entries would be voted on, and the winning entries would be shown this Friday, Aug 24. For background, in the 3 previous NMC conferences I have been involved with since starting my job there in 2006- we’ve done mainly a “tag this conference” approach where we ask people to tag photos, web sites, blog posts e.g. 2006 , 2007 , 2008 where I cobbled together some summary pages using mainly my own Feed2JS code.
