I removed PDFMaker from the Word startup file according to these instructions and no longer get error messages. To insert bookmarks (internal links) in an Acrobat Table of Contents. Open the document in Acrobat Pro. With the Link Properties dialog open, scroll to the page where the bookmark should be placed.
