Yesterday saw the announcement of a new study by ShareThis , in partnership with Starcom MediaVest Group and Rubinson Partners. However, while this specific number is impressive for a single networking service, I believe nonprofits can gain more from this study by discovery the gems of data that will be found by reading between the lines.

Reddit, Quora, and Digg provide discussion channels. Pinterest and Flipboard are for bookmarking and content sharing. According to a recent study done by Accenture, 55% of Americans surveyed said they would give more time and money to nonprofits if they made their communication with them more personal.
