In 2009 , students built a participatory exhibit from scratch. Thirteen students produced three projects that layered participatory activities onto an exhibition of artwork from the permanent collection of the Henry Art Gallery. You can explore the projects in full on the class wiki.

His project, Is It Necessary? blends sculpture, repetition, and ritual performance in a political statement about the genocide of animals in factory farms. It also complicates the question of what is acceptable in a museum. I know I could do a better job of making sure we scaffold the more unorthodox projects at our museum.
