I was not presenting, but decided to use Twitter crowd source some suggestions, screencapture them, and put those into my presentation later in the day. October 15th was Blog Action Day , a day for bloggers, podcasters and vloggers to write about and raise awareness about an issue. Here are a few examples of some month-long and two-week long online events: Maw Books Blog ran a Blogging and Reading for Darfur campaign last month. She read 31 books and raised $1,1136.60.

Today, June 20th, is World Refugee Day , a day to raise awareness about refugees' rights, and to honor their experiences. That's a statistic you don't often see in the news.
