Through this exercise, we quickly discovered a strong alignment in values and agreed to focus on co-creation, designing with empathy, and action-oriented thinking. Through in-depth interviews with V2I volunteers, charity partners, and corporate partners, we developed a deeper understanding of the problem and what was at stake.

Marcelo Iniarra pointed out that people have limited attention, but simple human experiences like this video of an interrupted skype interview with Robert Kelly from Korean caught people’s attention around the globe. I facilitated a brief interactive exercise with the audience to better understand the process. Empowerment.

Though it may have been nerve-wracking in the moment, I loved having to interview with so many organizations and having to think on my feet. I’ve had the chance to exercise my public speaking skills, increase my professionalism, and—most importantly—inspire others to do something great. Through being tested, my confidence grew.

This gave me an excuse to look at different types of peer learning exercises and facilitation techniques. These are brief, introductory exercises that help participants to get know each other, get connected to the topic, and their own learning outcomes.
