Fight Hunger is doing a lot of experimentation with social media - from their viral video contest to their fundraising event in Second Life. And from these experiments they probably have seen some results that gives intelligence to plan an even more effective social media integration strategy.

On June 4, we opened The Tech Virtual Test Zone , a new 2000 sq ft gallery at The Tech Museum of Innovation featuring exhibits on the theme of art, film, and music that were originally developed in Second Life by a community of creative amateurs. We inspired a community and got real results. It also focused the experience.

Three out of four of these were on Second Life. We created an Island in Second Life to forward this agenda. We announced a contest to create a game to address issue in Sudan. Darfur Is Dying was the result. We put out a call and got a number of responses from game programmers. We identified four finalists.
