While I was offline today enjoying Mother's Day and the beautiful weather (as much as I could with seasonal allergies), Target launched its version of an online contest. There have been many remixes of online contests since the Giving Challenge, so many that I can't quite remember all of them.

Types of advertising can include a combination of any of the following: Social media marketing and news feed ads Search engine marketing ads (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) Create and manage a donation page on your website, or through an organization like Qgiv , that directs donors to give at specific amounts. The first $50,000 fundraising contest I won for the Sharing Foundation was the Yahoo/Network for Good Charity Badge contest in 2007. (We So, the reminder and more data about ways to connect and cultivate your middle and major donors online is a good one. The Wired Wealthy. We raised $53,000, plus we got a $50,000 prize).

But recent changes by email service providers like Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook now makes this ancient idea incredibly relevant today. This led to acquisition tactics like iPad giveaway contests, buying lists and hiding unsubscribe buttons and practices of “email blasts”. That’s ok, not every relationship works out.

I took photos of my daughter wearing the t-shirts with thank you notes for each of the donors. In 2007, I won the Yahoo for Good Contest, winning $50,000 for the Sharing Foundation. A year later, I competed in the Case Foundation’s America’s Giving Contest, coming in first place.
