Earlier this year, we hosted the first Microsoft-TechSoup Show Your Impact Story Contest and I wandted to take a moment to highlight one of the winners. This is, in part, because September is National Preparedness Month. One such resource, is a project of the Pangea Foundation , one of the winners of that contest I mentioned earlier.

Recently, thousands of Facebook members helped leveraged a $50,000 donation from the Western Union Foundation by voting for the American Red Cross and its disaster relief efforts. The $50,000 donation will contribute to a broader American Red Cross goal to raise $100 million for disaster relief. that are easy to grab and use.

She was the recent winner of my son's Green Geek Charity Contest and we contributed a small amount to the charity of her choice, SOS Children's Villages. Joan sent us a note tonight thanking us, but also letting us know of a terrible natural disaster in her country: Hey Harry and Beth, I just celebrated my 26th birthday today!

I have not come across too many organizations using Slideshare for fundraising , although I’ve seen a few breath taking decks created by “free agent&# fundraisers for disaster relief efforts over the years. National Wildlife Federation uses Slideshare for its presentations, but also to promote the winners of their photo contests.

but didn’t stop doing photo contests; instead they adapted. Any resources to move from national to local? over time have gotten other metrics and impact from working on this goal. this time they got 3,000 photos and 2,500 email address. HSUS - integrated it with everything else, email campaigns/newsletters, offline, etc.
