I watched the news reports from Texas and was horrified at the scale of this disaster. I grew up on the Jersey shore where I’ve been evacuated due to storms, but I have never seen this level of disaster. I also ask for recommendations for local charities from colleagues. With catastrophic flooding and winds of up to 150 mph, Hurricane Ian has had a devastating impact on many areas of Florida and Cuba. While it’s difficult to see how Hurricane Ian has affected the lives of so many people, and we don’t yet know the full aftermath of the storm, there are plenty of ways you can lend a hand to those in need.

Late at night on Sunday August 29th, Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane near Port Fourchon, Louisiana. In 2019, millions of people around the world were affected by disasters and humanitarian crises. Hurricane Dorian caused catastrophic damage in the Bahamas and parts of the eastern United States.

It has been ten days since Hurricane Maria has devastated the Island of Puerto Rico. I usually take a three-prong strategy for disaster relief. I have my go-to global organizations that do a great job at relief efforts on the ground, set up funds for long-term rebuilding, or do a terrific job of vetting local charities to support.
