Because of good weather on most weekends, minimal injury setbacks, and a lot of races to select from in the Kansas City area each weekend, I reached my goal in October of that year. Also last year,, my then 49-year-old sister-in-law set a goal to run her first-ever 10K race.

Because of good weather on most weekends, minimal injury setbacks, and a lot of races to select from in the Kansas City area each weekend, I reached my goal last Saturday, and now with two months left in the year will surpass my goal. A few months ago, my sister-in-law set a goal to run her first-ever 10K race.

Most of the races this year supported non-profit organizations, primarily in the Kansas City metro. Roots N Blues N BBQ (Columbia, MO) -- Got to run with my sister-in-law. And, the weather totally behaved this year, so I didn't miss any scheduled race due to bad weather. I ran both races.
