Since the beginning of the pandemic, our team has worked closely with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to care for these individuals, including COVID-19-positive homeless and marginally housed residents of Massachusetts at the Isolation and Recovery sites. To address transportation needs, we expanded our transportation reimbursement program.

With the support of volunteers, we are able to effectively engage with individuals experiencing homelessness in D.C. We had a system of spreadsheets, memory, and phone calls. Volunteers are crucial to the work we do at Miriam’s Kitchen. Prior to VolunteerHub we managed our volunteer program by hand.

The Mobile4All project also sees mobile phones as a key to open the door to recovery and self-sufficiency. Assuredly they are.
