Instead of sitting around a campfire and playing “6 degrees from Kevin Bacon”, I could proactively comment on one of his Twitter posts and get a reaction directly from the star himself. In modern times, there is not a day that goes by in which I forego attempting to learn from my peers.

The filtering of these posts is handled automatically is based on the number of comments, inbound links, and other signs of engagement. (Hmm. sounds like a mashup of RSS run through Postrank).

Titled “Learning to Lead in an Academic Health System,” the chapter provides an overview of the need for more emphasis on leadership training and finding leaders who have the right skills to lead.

The MacArthur Foundation announced that it will be funding a five-year $50 million initiative, mostly for research, to try to understand how young people are using digital media and its impact learning. The environment for learning is no longer in the classroom and its online, and outside of school. It isn't entertainment.
