TechSoup Global has an upcoming Digital Story Telling contest, getting orgs to put together 60 second vid’s about what they do/who they are. Second Life and IRL at TechSoup HQ in SF. At the end of every presentation, they put up a slide where students can either 1) join their cause on Facebook or 2) text them to sign up.

Walk2Help tracks the distance you've walked using the built-in GPS on your phone and converts it into points.

Social Media and Nonprofits Anshe Chung Studios in China has been quietly building a Second Life space, managed by TechSoup, for non-profits. However, some nonprofits feel that Second Life is a waste of time and resources.

Sure, you wanted to be ahead of the game, but you got tied up rockin out on Monkey Island in Second Life. I am a consultant and graduate student in complex systems and wanted an illustration of "self organization." Now, you need a surefire strategy to get you those key last minute donations.
