Sounds a lot like Edupunk, doesn’t it? The unconference/camp model of learning about technology issues is really great, but falls a little short when dealing with a specific tool, and an audience that is mostly unfamiliar with it. I learned a lot.

There are trade-offs to different approaches in terms of sound quality to keep in mind. And, while the sound and visual look may not be polished, one could perfect their skills at guerrila podcasting/videocasting so the quality didn't detract from the content. Easy and Cheap. Damn, next year I will.

On 8.16.08, the Museum of Art and History (Santa Cruz, CA) hosted FreelanceCamp, a free unconference that brought 150 designers and techies from the south bay area together to talk shop. To some people, these events may sound like losers. I was at the last of these three events--the unconference in Santa Cruz.

Unconference sessions , featuring topics as diverse as "playing an ARG" (with real labyrinth adventures ), "engaging visitors who were dragged to the museum," and "measuring and defining success in participatory projects." They sound obvious, but several took me years to figure out. You did great. Vary the activities.
