The US Department of Education recognized that Parent Centers could increase their impact through technology and allotted funding for 8 pilot centers that represent the cross section of abilities in the network to test a technology model. We knew that this technology project was worthy of a significant change in the way we work.

Great model! I compared wikispaces with pbwiki - the two user-friendly hosted wiki apps that I like. This is a cool site. It lets you select any two or more wiki packages and then it dynamically creates a feature-by-feature comparison. Speaking of wikis, there's gonna be an online wiki and nonprofit event next week over here and here

The Horizon Project Wikispace is where teams of students and teachers from around the globe working on action learning experiments using these emerging technologies. I also think the Student Code of Ethics are good model too - sort of like online community standards or codes of conduct. Massively Multiplayer Educational Gaming.

When I blogged my preliminary thoughts and set up a wikispace , I was seeking a specific nonprofit example to make it more real. Tim Davies from the UK volunteered to be the guinea pig and test the thinking process (a logic model of sorts) for his newly launched web project that incorporates social media strategies.
