One of TechSoup's less-known areas of work has been to support and promote the work of other tech-for-good organizations, like Ushahidi in Kenya. Many organizations including the United Nations have used Ushahidi's crowdsourcing tools to raise their voice. These folks do astonishing work.

One of the women that stands out is actually someone who participated in our 2008 training, which took place in Kenya. They will be happening in May, July, and September, and will be about defending sacred places in the Southwest, protecting water and traditional culture in California, and promoting energy justice on the Navajo Nation.
