once people realize that they can give to any nonprofit on social media sites like Change.org without providing a snail mail address (I always give my email address), the young folks will defect in mass from giving via the orgs Web site. We know that lots of orgs have heard some variation of this from their bosses—“We need to get on the Twitter!” Ive seen many orgs that seem to want numbers for the sake of numbers: when they dont want to think things through clearly, rather than understand the goals and missions and then take a quantitative view.
