Several months ago, I made my first Second Life Machinima, " I'm a Pianist In Second Life " after discovering Robbie Dingo 's instruments. (I I was little afraid that I might end up not only wasting time making music videos in Second Life, but actually composing a theme song. So, I stayed away.

TechSoup Global has an upcoming Digital Story Telling contest, getting orgs to put together 60 second vid’s about what they do/who they are. Second Life and IRL at TechSoup HQ in SF. Smaller setting, still get the information, lower cost. Video is such an inclusive medium.

Museum 2.0

On June 4, we opened The Tech Virtual Test Zone , a new 2000 sq ft gallery at The Tech Museum of Innovation featuring exhibits on the theme of art, film, and music that were originally developed in Second Life by a community of creative amateurs. In Second Life, I am not an expert--but many of our virtual exhibit designers are.

We need to establish a presence for our organization in Second Life,???

They just finished a YouTube video contest. Today, an interview with Shelley Bernstein , the Manager of Information Systems at the Brooklyn Museum, and the engine behind that museum’s fabulous forays into Web 2.0. The Flickr site became this vital thing to get that information about the changes back out to them.

They are hosting a contest to win $10,000K to celebrate their launch. Sixdegrees.org is running a contest with Hanes T-shirts to win $10,000K. The Second Life Community Convention is taking place this weekend in Chicago. The Knight Foundation is sponsoring The Knight News Challenge and they've got $5 million to give away.
