The news report , strangely, focused on the question of whether the Soumaya Museum is a rich man's indulgence or a truly "worthy" cultural institution.

Master Mashup: Viral Marketing from Bob Dylan

One fun example is overplot , a mashup that takes quotes overheard in New York City ( the data ) and places them on a Google map (the tool), so you can browse the quotations by address. Of course, there are potential rights issues to be ironed out, but as in most museum/2.0 tensions, it's mostly a question of control.

Org Charts: Social Networking for the At-Work Set

In 2005, I visited COSI Columbus. They're visually muddled, and even when you do get the information, job titles are often confusing at best; at my museum, the woman who maintains the artifacts is called the "Collections Manager." Org charts are not just about putting people in their place. Who's an excel maven?
