But also, when people are in need -- like after Hurricane Katrina, when people relocated to the different cities and stadiums -- local Freecycle members in all these areas were able to go in and work with the Red Cross to get people signed up who had just been relocated to whatever city it was. That just felt so immensely good.

I see this site growing as the use of mobile increases, but it’s a great first step and a good role model for other government agencies.

So, last spring Ella Baker Center, to launch its new program Reclaim the Future, took a big role in the United Nations World Environment Day Conference that was happening here in San Francisco. It's an amazing act of love really in response to the hurricane and the racial neglect that occurred down on the Gulf. How do we do it all?
