On the other hand, in Madison, where we didn’t have a Kitchen Cabinet, collaboration on reopening was much more challenging.

Most groups navigated the unusual challenges and got work done. Groups that developed a structure and schedule for online meetings managed their time and effort more efficiently. We learned that having a history of shared values and expectations for behavior makes for healthier virtual environments. How are you doing?

The 2017 Nonprofit Employment Practices Survey results show that organizations’ top three greatest talent challenges are hiring qualified staff within limited budget constraints, maintaining salary budgets against market pressures, and finding qualified staff. Challenges recruiting qualified staff only intensify the need to retain them.

Food for me is something that impacts all of our lives, and it was a place where I could focus the most of my energy and really impact community, environment, health, soil, air, social equity issues, community building, and how we do, or do not interact with each other. I was already studying agriculture at the University Wisconsin-Madison.

I went home to live with my parents in rural Wisconsin, and just to be close to my roots, and have the space to really think about the vision. I spent a lot of time in the fields of Wisconsin journaling, researching, reading, writing, creating the manifesto, if you will. I canceled my entire business, which was a big step.
