Song Reader didn''t come as a CD, or an LP, or a bunch of digital audio files. Beck''s project is unusual because he deliberately resurrected a mostly-defunct participatory platform: sheet music for popular songs. In December of 2012, the rock musician Beck released his latest album, Song Reader. There are twenty songs in Song Reader.

danah boyd has a post called " On Being Virtual " (be sure to read the comments) As Kevin Gamble on the SLED list notes, what she seems to be saying is that if you look at the rise of social tech amongst young people, it's not about divorcing the physical social structures to live virtually. Come on, get real already.

So then we’ll talk about what are some participatory planning methods. Do we have a clear structure? Is it a hub and spokes model, you have an executive group and then different spokes who cover different topics, or is it more of a linear horizontal structure? How do we do this well? Are regular meetings set?
