So, in the meanwhile, we will need to rely on licenses: permissions agreements. So, the publishers weren’t against all licensing.

Founded by Indian Institute of Management professor Brij Kothari, the first concept was same language subtitling. They first created original visual story content, and then added different languages. In addition to a print book, they have multimedia content that animates the characters and adds audio narration.

Use Normal Language in Your Story A long, drawn-out, flat story with a bunch of numbers and statistics and jargon is not a good way to convey your message and your needs. Note from Beth: During my trip to India in February, I was introduced to a nonprofit children's book publisher in India, Pratham Books. “It was set up to fill a gap in the market for good quality, reasonably priced children’s books in a variety of Indian languages. Its] mission is to make books affordable for every child in India.”

The print book doesn’t work for people who are blind, partially sighted, dyslexic, have physical limitations, people who haven’t learned to read, or people who can’t read the particular language of a specific book is written in. Lack of access to the knowledge in books perpetuates ignorance, generates poverty and squanders human potential.
