I spent some time playing with this question last week at the Milwaukee Art Museum, a large general museum that is moving toward redesign of the permanent galleries. They were okay talking to us, but weren't willing to have something written down or their photo taken. That packaging was in the photos, not the cards.

Wandering Down the "Don't Touch" Line

The Oakland Museum, which tried a similar approach with their "touch me" stickers throughout the galleries (as shown above in the photo), has reported an overall increase in touching. The Milwaukee Art Museum has a video explaining do's and don'ts of the museum for children. all over the place.

So another client of mine, Upstream Arts, they provide programming in the Minneapolis schools, the Milwaukee School District, and I think they’re going to a couple other states now. This is a stock photo. They make sure that they use not stock images.
