In doing a bit more research (which I guess I hadn’ t done this summer) it turns out that Webex seems to allow desktop sharing with Linux. ReadyTalk is proprietary and not free (as in beer).

It’s quite interesting, and it deals with the audio over phone issue (which is a major snag) by dispensing with two-way audio entirely, and just using one-way audio. It does, apparently, do audio via VOIP.
