It may be easy for big groups, with photogenic interests -- like the National Wildlife Federation's Wildlife Habitat program or The Nature Conservancy's nature picture contest -- to use something like Flickr, but you're too small? What's that you say? Balderdash! Take a look at what the Learning Community is doing.

Define something small and tangible - whether it be a flickr photo contest or exploring the content related to your organization's issue and identifying 10 friends or contacts. Several NTEN Affinity Groups have formed around social networking tools, including one called Social Networking Tools. There's lots of examples in this blog.

We launched a digital photo contest through Flickr in 2005, not because we thought it was going to raise a ton of money, but because we thought we could launch the whole effort in just a couple of days. They're right about each and every one of them.
