Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated every year from September 15 to October 15. It gives the space to highlight the community’s diversity and celebrate their cultures. It was great to have a co-trainer who knew the subject matter, fluent in English, and who understood group facilitation skills and training approaches. This was very helpful because traditional translation does not help you read the group or adjust on the spot. I do not speak Spanish.

Each month, more than 70 groups hold free events in 24 countries. NetSquared groups focus on topics that address their unique local tech challenges, but once a quarter, we select a common theme. In Peru, the group explored how Azure can help NGOs and in Tanzania , people learned about the concept of cloud productivity services.

Several years ago, I had an opportunity to travel to Costa Rica with a group of artists. In Uganda, a group of young people made incredible, heartfelt postcards filled with glitter and cut up magazine pictures to send to women in the Congo. We are also planning a trip to Peru! We have come a long way!

Last year disaster relief once again became the main focus of our organization as we activated and served over 4 million meals in Peru, Houston, Puerto Rico, and California. For the past 5 or 6 years we've had a small but steady group of supporters who are primarily invested in our empowerment projects.
