According to their site: "The International Olympic Committee (IOC) awarded Beijing the 2008 Olympic Games in 2001, disregarding international criticism of China's human rights record. They've organized an international Olympic Torch Relay which began on August 9 in Chad, near the Darfur border, and will finish in China in January.

On Friday, I was on a "Darfur Activist" conference call produced by ENOUGH , the Genocide Intervention Network , STAND and the Save Darfur Coalition. I'm also highlighting this because it is a terrific example of using social news sites like Digg and Reddit o promote a cause (the Reddit guys were among my first video blog interviewees back in Nov. 2005 ) I had (wrongly) assumed that getting to the top of social news sites was a matter of dumb luck or that if something went viral.

Effective sites and campaigns provide space for people to express themselves. March for Women's Lives allowed people who couldn't march to post messages and stories on the March for Women's Lives' web site. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation created a site for young people. It is the most popular part of the site.

He began the talk by telling the story of the first time Google Earth was used for awareness raising by Rebecca Moore, Program Manager, Google Earth Outreach. Videos in the balloons will only work on Windows. Two years ago, Rebecca presented a logging flyover at a Neighbors Against Responsible Logging (NAIL) meeting. Marketing.
