These sites basically say: There is an urgent need in our community. Primary colors evoke childhood and optimism. An alternative is to use stock photos, but this too brings challenges. Some have a sad tone that emphasizes the dire situations of the people they serve, but it’s more common for nonprofit websites to be uplifting.
