Ford Foundation had a history of working on issues of racial discrimination in Brazil. I can’t tell you how proud I am to be a grantee!”

I had an exceptionally knowledgeable mentor who ran an office engaged in multiple types of fundraising activities: endowment (major gifts), special project fundraising (grant writing), annual fund (with a corporate slant), membership, database administration, special events, and volunteer management. My mind was a sponge.

Some of them are just incredible experts and I had mentors and I had community and I wasn’t in it alone. You need to get better at storytelling, like strengthen those muscles and practice it and do it over and over again. That’s your organizational story as in like that’s your history. And I appreciate that.
