You can define a community by the shared attributes of the people in it, and/or by the strength of the connections among them. The second is a quality of the community (strong vs. weak) as defined.

Co-Creating Exhibits with Teens and Volunteers: The Importance of Criteria

This summer, I worked with the Chabot Space & Science Center on a design institute in which eleven teens from their Galaxy Explorers program designed media pieces for an upcoming Smithsonian exhibition on black holes.
