Our breakthrough in the conception of Martus came in 2000, when I was looking to expand Benetech to new frontiers of social good beyond our origins—helping disabled people access books in what is now our Global Literacy program. Jessica is the co-founder and a board member of Kiva , a nonprofit that is using the Internet to connect people through loans to alleviate global poverty. Jessica has worked in rural Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda with the Village Enterprise Fund and Project Baobab on impact evaluation and program development.

Many blogs, like the Razoo blog , went red on Thursday as part of Free Burma: International Bloggers Day. See also the post on TechSoup, " How to Fund and Cost ICT ," a publication from the ICTHUB. Unfortunately, not the best thing for global nonprofits. and color schemes for your blog. Early detection is important.

This event was very exciting, as we have never previously received federal funding for Bookshare.org. Benetech's newest project is a software tool called Miradi that helps environmental practitioners design, manage, monitor and learn from their projects to more effectively meet the needs of global biodiversity.
