There are other projects underway to solve it, including the MedBiquitous Activity Report standard and (in a sense) the Mozilla Open Badges project. As Mark Iafrate of Accredible , an evangelist for badges, has suggested, these standards could continue to exist in a layered system that rests atop distributed ledgers. We are all for it.

Not only does Indiegogo offer discounts on fees, you can also get a badge on your campaign that says you're a verified 503(c) nonprofit (which, according to the Indiegogo rep I spoke with, helps with garnering donations). Bottom line: I love Indiegogo's nonprofit perks, especially the verified nonprofit badge you can put on your page.

Many of this latter group of are veterans of what Extraordinaries’ Jacob Colker calls the “Command & Control Model” – programs that seek to control the relationship of the volunteer with the organization and/or cause. Until recently Command & Control made sense. Collaboration could take place on virtual or crowd-sourced projects.

The applications also include a widget badge (see above) that you can put on your web site to recruit people off of Facebook to join the fun. This application takes the click for a cause revenue model (remember FreeRice ?) The money that is earned from user participation will be donated to the charities through a Facebook Cause.

And what is the optimum combination of videos, pictures, text, friends, and other widgets? Does their profile include a donation widget or a link to click for donations? If it does, how much money has been raised and which widget are they using? The most popular widget was Change.orgs , with Sixdegrees.org also being used.
