Candid’s grants data set currently includes comprehensive information about over 30 million grants and other philanthropic transactions, such as pledges, in-kind gifts, program-related investments, etc. This typically resulted in about 900-1,300 funders represented and 100-150k grants collected in a given year.

In the wake of their deaths, individuals, communities, and organizations have shown solidarity with words, actions, and millions of dollars pledged to end anti-Asian discrimination, violence, and hate.

Certain corporate giving programs like volunteer grants encourage employees to volunteer with nonprofits. As a result, nonprofits not only earn money from the volunteer grants but also gain a new base of dedicated volunteers. Volunteer grants function very similarly to matching gifts. More volunteer sign-ups. New partnerships.

It’s your job to remind folks who’ve not yet renewed or fulfilled on their pledges that it’s time to do so. You can also create lists of SYBNTs (gave some year but not this), pledge reminders, and downgrades. Call donors who’ve not yet paid their pledges. . And this is the time of year you risk having donors fall off a cliff.

In addition, the Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Maui Fund pledged $100 million, GoFundMe raised $60 million, the People’s Fund of Maui (Oprah and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) raised $60 million, and Maui United Way raised about $25 million. However, this delay is important, too, for pledges do not always equal final payments.
