Virtual worlds are a communication medium in which people use avatars (animated characters) to interact and have shared experiences in a 3D environment. It’s not a game—there’s no goal or restrictions on how you use it—instead, it’s a technology platform for immersion and interaction, like the web. I think that’s absolutely true.
