gSyncIt can get my notes into Google Docs, but those don't sync with the Pre and I don't want to have to get Internet access just to read or write a note. Also, gSyncIt also brought my Google Docs into my Outlook Notes, which wasn't good. Tags: Mobile Communications. Calendar: Google Calendar Sync. Notes: Evernote.

Dropbox sits nicely between formal, full featured project communications tools such as Basecamp (which we also use), Central Desktop , or Google Apps and Docs. Lastpass categorizes and tags your passwords. It runs on Adobe Air, so it works transparently and stays lightweight on Windows, Linux and Mac.

It’s a bit like buying Microsoft Office or Adobe Create Suite, rather than using Apple Mail as your email application and Microsoft Word for your word processor and Google Docs when you want to edit a spreadsheet. When we first rolled out Google Apps in early 2008 I had visions of a Microsoft Word burning party as everyone embraced Google Docs. If someone prefers to create a Word file rather than a Google Doc, that's fine. Team members can download the PDF, open in Adobe Reader and annotate directly on the PDF. Didn't happen.

Even a word doc you update every time you’re on site for a client is better than notes scribbled on post-its. I buy my software (for clients) at techsoup.org and ccb nonprofits (the latter sell Adobe products and hardware). Then of course there’s the nptech tag, which people should be familiar with.
