I just set up a ChipIn page and widget (see above) to help raise money for an NGO, the Sharing Foundation that supports children in Cambodia. I use typepad, so I wanted place the widget in the sidebar of my blog as well. I'm on the board. One of its many programs is the college sponsorship program. It was very easy to set up!

Services like TypePad and Wordpress tend to be top-of-mind platforms for new bloggers, but the session covered a ton of features about what makes Blogger different and great for nonprofits such as: Free hosting (use your own URL!). It's easy to create, customizable for every video you post, and can be changed on the fly.

My particular test raised $25 for my project in less than 24 hours! I'm not a techy, so I use typepad. Typepad has integrated widgets into the blogging platform, so adding a widget is even easier than cut and paste! Its from MobaTalk and has a better interface and also automatically shares messages you've received.
