Gavin started this all off by posting a good and interesting set of questions about the efficiency of folksonomies. I’ll agree with Gavin, that folksonomies sure are less efficient, and a lot more messy than taxonomies. But is efficiency the most important thing? Be Helpful.

Report Back from the Do Good Data Conference 2015

The 20-person department pulls the information from scanned PDFs of the filings, enter the information into their database, and classify the information in the Foundation Center taxonomy. Foundation Center has been working on automating much of this work.
