He was an early adopter of SKYPE. One of my most memorable Skype calls was when I had forgot to turn switch off SKYPE during a presentation to health care nonprofits about social media in 2007. Participants, who were in the 60s and 70s were protesting they were “too old,” when my Dad’s SKYPE profile showed up on the screen.

She called blogs, wikis and Skype/VoIP, “technology with heart,” tools that allow people to help one another and to, “give real information, in real time, with real voices.” Work with traditional media and blogs to get the word out about your work.

When afterwilma debuted, I like many others felt an affinity to the people afflicted by the hurricane. We did start a group hurricane blog after Wilma, thankfully we have not put it to good use. Fantastic photo and look forward to skyping into the UK this spring for a session at the conference.
