This charity also has offices in India , Nepal , and Tanzania operates its own projects and supports partners in Tanzania, India, and Nepal and works on behalf of children in places like the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Pakistan, Peru, Cambodia, China, and Bangladesh. It has just 20 UK-based staff.

I was reminded of how much we take for granted in our culture of excess, and how important it is to see that there are simpler ways of living and giving. We are also planning a trip to Peru! I had brought an abundance of art supplies with me, but they didn’t need them. If you would like to join that campaign, please let me know.

We are also in discussions in Peru, in Burkina Faso, and in Botswana as well. CH: Our headquarters office here in Oakland is staffed entirely by volunteers, and I always like people to know that of all of the foundation dollars, and donations and grant money that comes in, I divert 94% of it to our in-country operations.

Before I left for Peru, I did an interview for the Big Vision Podcast with Jonah Sachs, the Principal of Free Range Studios , an advertising and marketing firm with offices in Washington DC and Berkeley, California that specializes in non-profits and socially responsible businesses.
