Wikipedia is probably the best example of this, but I think it's possible to do much more. I've created a topic on Google Moderator where people can submit and vote on ideas. I've never used Google Moderator, but someone told me that it's good, so hopefully it works :). I already don't read the email I have -- I don't need more.

Discussion boards can be added to your website, leveraged in a Ning site, or you can use a google group or similar solution. If users have to create an account, that in itself is a barrier, but it will allow you to delete accounts that spam. Some are huge. Some are successful, but messy.

Time then to ping mainstream news sources, image search and his Wikipedia page to check for updates. They are like broad, topical, personalized blogsearch with good spam control. There would be no reason for Google to poll websites for changes over and over again. Real-Time Publishing. These services are fun and useful.

Yikes, the first ever tag spam I've seen in the NpTech Tag Stream! Robin Good has a nice roundup of affordable Web Conferencing Tools and a useful comparison chart in a google spreadsheet. A nice little utility that lets you embed google mymaps into your blog. Via LifeHacker , does google analytics make you say huh?

He told the story of the founding of wikipedia and the meaning of the Hawaiin word - quickly, quickly. He talked about the growth of wikipedia. Talked about the problem of wiki spam and how easy it is to administrator. Keywords are important, particularly in titles - if you want to show up in google. Needs an engine.

We recently saw this in the Google/China case where Chinese crackers (bad hackers) broke into activist Gmail accounts. For more info, web search for: hacking "inside job" (As of late, the China/Google scandal commandeers at least the first three search pages. For many of these issues, good spam/virus filtering is essential.
